Kuro Obi at Bairro Portuguese
Just quick note to all about tomorrow's demos at the Bairro Portuguese. As you know, I have asked you, the students and parents, to help out, and some have you been very forthcoming and for that I thank you sincerely in advance.
However, I still need people to come for the demonstrations themselves, and the more we can have there the better, so if you weren't going to be there, but can find the time, I'd much appreciate it.
The public demonstrations are at 10:40am (yes, I said 11:40 before - I apologise, my memory is getting a bit soft) and 1:30pm. The stage for the 10:40 demo is is quite big (about the size of our dojo mats), and so we can fit quite a few people on it.
We also have a small mat (3mx3m) next to our booth where we can conduct mini-demos for the passers by, so there will be things to do before and after the demos too.
The attached map shows you where we'll be and where the booth is - just opposite the Petersham Post Office, nice and central.
For those of you who are coming, make sure you bring
- your dogi and belt,
- shinpads and mitts,
- a hat
- soft shoes for the demo (and walking around) in case the stage is hot
- something to change into between demos (at least a t-shirt, a kyokushin one if you have one)
If you do decide to come along after all, please let me know by email or SMS when you're coming - the fair opens to the public at 10am and goes until 6pm - it would be good to have someone keeping me company until then.
The Bairro Portuguese is also a cultural event with great food and other entertainment... the whole family can make it a day's outing while you're at it. Find out more about it at http://www.marrickville.nsw.gov.au/en/outandabout/events/bairro-portugues/
I hope to see you there!
